Another music recommendation for your kiddos....

The older my boys get, the more I appreciate God's directive to the Israelites in Deuteronomy.....

You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Adam and I are constantly on the lookout for ways to teach our children about God's love and forgiveness and core doctrines throughout Scripture.
That's why I was super excited to come across a new project by the Gospel Coalition and Songs for Saplings. You can read the entire article and find links here, but the entire set includes 111 songs based on the Westminster Shorter Catechism.
We downloaded the Fall & Salvation Volume and the boys have been listening to it every night as they fall asleep. I love that they're filling their minds Biblical truths about the gospel each time they listen. It's so fun to hear them singing the words as they go throughout their day.

Gospel Transformation Bible

My husband recently posted this preview video for the brand new Gospel Transformation Bible and I just had to share it here.

Doesn't it look great?? I can totally identify with the comment about the Old Testament being the "bad news" and the New Testament having all the "good news". I'm excited to read the whole of Scripture looking for Christ and Grace in all 66 books!

We've already pre-ordered ours and you can get yours HERE.
Do you use a study Bible?? What is your favorite?

A music recommendation for you....

Our family LOVES music! It's rare for music of some sort to be playing as soon as we start the car. Both of our boys listen to CD's as they fall asleep. Sometimes I find my oldest putting on one of their favorites to listen to while they play puzzles and super heroes.
It's amazing how much sinks into little brains, and even music in the background can play a huge role in their understanding of doctrine, God, and the gospel.
That's why I was super excited when Adam ordered this Sovereign Grace CD a couple of weeks ago....

We've been listening to it non-stop since then. Some of the songs are upbeat while others are a little more meditative, but ALL of them focus on God's greatness and help my boys worship him for who He is!
The great news is that the CD is marked down to only $4!!!! I'm not sure how long that price will last, but if you're in search of some new Christ-glorifying music for your kiddos, this is it!

Silence in the storm - a recommendation for you....

Hey friends!! I wanted to pop in really quickly to let you know about a great new series that is starting over at Fearfully.Wonderfully today. Christy (who happens to be one of my friends from high school!!) will be addressing some tough questions that we all struggle with at times. According to her.....

Sometimes, even in the biggest of storms - it can seem like God is silent.
  • What do we say to the people who feel like God is silent in their storm?
  • What do we say to them?!?
  • What do we do when we are the ones in the storm?
  • What do we say when life hasn't gone as planned - and only silence remains?
  • What do we need to know about God when the storms are raging?

I know that we will all be challenged and encouraged from Scripture through this series!! Hop over and check it out!! Make sure to meet Christy while you're there - you'll love her and her blog!!

Have a great weekend, friends!!
