Happy 2015!

Friday Feedback (4th of July version).....

Happy 4th of July friends! I'm so excited about a day with family and friends as we celebrate our country's hard-earned independence! 

This may be a little bit of a tangent, but although our country continues to progress in a direction that makes me sad and a little scared at times, I'm so thankful for the undeserved grace God has poured out on our country over the years. I'm also grateful that God's mission of redemption is far greater than the U.S., our president, or even the current generation. He creates beautiful stories of freedom every day regardless of culture or country! 

Anyway....my Friday Feedback question is a little less deep! :) 

What do you have planned for your 4th of July celebration?? 

My answer: 

We're going to have a relaxed morning and then we'll head out our front door for the town parade that goes right down our street. After that we're planning to head over to a friends house for some food and fellowship before fireworks! How much more traditional of a 4th of July celebration can you get?? 

My main goal is to remember to take some pictures of the kiddos! I seem to always forget until it's too late!!

Motherhood is amazingly unique God-given job! I feel honored to be my kiddos mom and I am so incredibly thankful for the woman who poured so much into my life as I was growing up.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Summer Update - 4th of July edition.....

Welcome to the second update of this summer. We're slowly chipping away at our Summer Bucket List and having a great time while we're doing it!

We took a little family trip to an area of the country we haven't explored much. The kiddos had a great time swimming in hotel pools and they absolutely loved their first visit to the zoo!

I love how the real rhino is in the background of this picture!! 

 On our way home, we stopped by the Creation Museum (a ministry of Answers in Genesis). I can't believe I only took one blurry picture of the boys!! They loved the dinosaurs and I was overwhelmed with the awesomeness of our Creator once again!
We'd definitely like to head back there once they finish a huge replica of the Ark!!!

At the museum, my big guy picked out a new a new dinosaur floor puzzle. I was so proud of him for doing the whole thing all by himself!! 

For breakfast on the Fourth, we tried our hands at painted bread. Super easy and fun! 

It was SUPER hot that day. We slathered on the sunscreen before sitting outside for our town's parade. It actually passes right in front of our house, so we can just walk out the front door for all the fun! 

 One of the firetrucks in the parade turned on his water for the kids to run through. SO refreshing, although my little guy is now afraid of fire trucks!

We had about 15 friends and all their kiddos over to the house for hamburgers and hotdogs. Again, I totally forgot to take a picture!! It must have been the heat! A few stayed to watch fireworks with us which again are right out our front door. We set up our lawn chairs on the front porch and enjoyed the show!

We still have a bunch planned for the rest of this month and into August before school starts!

Freedom....

We have a fun day planned complete with a 4th of July parade then a cookout out and fireworks with friends later this evening. I'll try to remember to take some pictures to post a recap later! Until then,

My husband showed this video as the opening to our service yesterday morning! I thought it would be a perfect video to share with you all today as we say, "Thank You" to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms!!

I'm so blessed....

I hope all of you mommies had an amazing day yesterday! I sure did! Adam surprised my with flowers on FRIDAY before we left for our weekend conference!!  Then I received some of the sweetest cards ever on Sunday morning along with some YUMMY Russell Stover Truffles!! Yum!!

My poor little guy was sick with a fever, runny nose, etc. so we stayed home from church and cuddled all morning! Those kind of days won't last very much longer as he gets older and older, so I cherished that sweet time!

I am SO incredibly blessed to have not only a wonderful and loving husband (who made an amazing Sunday dinner for me!), but also a sweet little boy who said, "Happy Muffers Day!!" all day! :) I love my job!!

 Easter Sunday is always a crazy day for our family!! I almost forgot to snap a few pictures before we left for the Sunrise Service!

I'm in love....

It's been almost 7 years since our first date.
We've lived in 5 homes in 3 states during our 5 years of marriage.
While there has been much change, one thing has never changed....

He is the 1 for me!!

It's been a while, but.....

I'm finally ready to get back into the swing of things here at A Steady Rain. The Christmas decorations are put away for another year, and it's nice to settle back into a normal routine. I'm super excited about the blessings we'll be able to share in 2011!!
But before then, we need to catch up! I'll be sharing some of my favorite memories and pictures from this past holiday season later this week, and today, I want to hear from you......

Thanksgiving Recap....

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!! It was a cold, snowy day which made the turkey and pumpkin even cozier! Here a few pictures from the day!!

 My sister came to visit from law school!! 

 This was my first experience cooking a Thanksgiving dinner for family!! I had lots of fun!

 SO thankful for my sweet family!
