Fun Family Getaway....

Last week, our little family had the opportunity to getaway for a couple days! We headed down to Lancaster, PA which is only 3-4 hours away. It was such a sweet time for the three of us!

We took a tour of a replica of an Amish home at The Amish Village.....
The outside grounds at The Amish Village were super fun too!!
We enjoyed the animals and the one room school house.....
We went to Strasburg, PA for the first time last year, and just had to head back to ride the train again this time!
On our way home, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to swing by Hershey, PA!
The chocolate tasting was awesome for this pregnant mommy!! :)
It was such a blessing to take a break from this CRAZY summer!! What about you?? Have you been able to travel with your family this summer? Written a post about it?? I'd love to see!! Let me know in the comments! :)

Florida Fun (Part 2).....

The 2nd reason for my awesome trip to Florida was to attend my high school reunion!! It's so hard to believe it's been 10 years!! It was so great to catch up with everyone, and share some funny high school memories. Here are a few pictures... you may recognize a couple of fellow bloggers!!

The second girl from the left is Christy, author of the awesome blog, Fearfully. Wonderfully.

Mary Beth (on the left) shares some great savings at her blog,  Bungalow of Blessings.

Two of my best friends, Andrea and Janice......

The girls!!

Me with my BFF, Andrea!!

GORGEOUS Navarre Beach....

I was able to spend the rest of the weekend with Andrea and her family! We had plenty of time to catch up, and I really enjoyed visiting the church she and her husband are helping start in the area.
I don't mean to be repetitive, but this trip was SUCH a blessing! My husband said he was praying that I would be refreshed physically, spiritually, and emotionally, and the Lord answered those prayers! I'm so thankful for his sweet, generous surprise!
Do you have any fun trips planned for this summer??

Florida Fun (Part 1).....

There were 2 main reasons for my recent trip down south. The first was to attend my brother-in-law's high school graduation. Jesse is the 2nd youngest of the 6 boys in my husband's family. I just love all of those guys, and it was SO fun to be part of that special day!
Since 2nd grade, Jesse was home schooled using the A Beka Academy Video School DVD's which were taped at Pensacola Christian Academy (my alma mater!!). It was fun to see my old high school, and Jesse enjoyed seeing the classrooms and meeting the teachers that he's only seen on video for so many years.

We spent the evening hanging out at the college's Sports Center! Here are 3 of the guys....

Michael and my adorable nephew, Lucas.....

The girls....Me, Mom, and Lori.....

We enjoyed a delicious luncheon especially for all of the graduates.....

Mom and my sweet niece, Lily......

So proud of this guy!!

Future graduate.....

I headed straight to my 10 year high school reunion after Jesse's graduation. Check back on Saturday for some fun pictures from the rest of my time in Florida!!!
Tomorrow, though, I want to catch up with YOU with our Friday Feedback Link-up!!! Can't wait!!

Getaway (Part 2)....

After all of our fun on the train, we headed to a small petting zoo. My little guy just LOVED feeding all of the animals!!

He wasn't exactly sure what to think of the donkey....

Finally deciding to be brave...

You can't see it, but he is enthralled with a small barn kitten who was under the fence.....

Picture with the pony....

We then headed back to the motel for some fun in the pool....Ready to swim!!

The guys soaking in the sun....

Ahhhh!!! So relaxing!!!

I am so thankful that we were able to have this short getaway. It was exactly what we needed during this busy summer! We made some special family memories that I will never forget!!

Make sure to come back tomorrow to share with me how your summer has been going.......

Getaway (Part 1).....

Last week, we were able to get away for a couple of days. We drove the 31/2 hours down to Lancaster, PA, and had a very relaxing time. We spent the first day shopping at the many outlets and malls around the area. It was nice to find some great deals at some stores we don't have in our little town!

The next day we headed to Strasburg, PA which was about 10 minutes from our motel. It is a quaint Pennsylvania town known for it's historic trains.

Before boarding the train, we had to try out some of the other modes of transportation on display around the station.....

Our little guy's favorite ride!!

Trying out an Amish buggy.....

Waiting for our train to arrive....

Historic Strasburg Station.....

Our train.....

Boarding this old train felt like we were stepping back in time 100 years....

The scenery was just absolutely beautiful....

It was neat to see the huge Amish farms along the way......
The cutest passenger on the train....

To Be Continued......
